Date Night… no wait! Afternoon. Part 2
I’m a little high maintenance sometimes, but my favorite thing is to be humbled. (yes, the verb) This young man, who asked me to hang out is an incredible guy, sensitive, and down to earth. He waited outside my job with an umbrella because it was raining cats and dogs outside and I smiled. Who was I to be so insulted over nothing? In our 40 minute walk in the pouring rain (I washed the mud off as soon I got home) we discussed how we both thought this was a date but didn’t want it to be one. A man and a woman CAN be just friends! Prince Charming was indeed that, charming. I noticed what he lacked in physical stature, he made up with an incredible mental capacity and in general, wit. He knew when to listen to me as well; as in a cross-the-street-now-or-forever-hold-your-peace kind of way. He did mental math on how much time it would take me to earn the amount of money needed for my insurance (as he walked) and relieved me of my guilt over being completely horrid at math; claiming it was not in my genes and I had no control over what was or wasn’t in them. Instead he insisted on me exercising the ones I do own. He admired that I was CHOOSING to pay rather than be dependant on my parents for it. He metioned he enjoyed running; to which I promtly asked him what he found wrong in “walking with a purpose”. He laughed, not sure if I was truly serious. Moreover, being honked at for no apparent reason, qued him in to be gentlemanly; and ask me to walk on his left away from trafic. Thoughtful but useless since I probably was only going through that experience once in my life I wanted to experience it with danger and all. From this experience as a whole I’ve learned that we’re often victims of our society’s expectations. I also learned that I may not want a “nice guy” but I sure do deserve one.
F.Y.A (for your amusement), we didn’t make it in time to watch an non-awkward action motion picture instead the only movie that fit between both our schedules was Crazy. Stupid. Love. By the way, it was more than inappropriate at times; though it was PG-13, but it did help get rid of some tension instead of building it which I find ironic.
What happens next with this situation and odd relationship is obvious; we’re both terribly and terrifically involved in our own studies and just need an awesome buddy that gets it. Then that’s that. We’re both intrigued with each other’s culture and plan of bonding over that next. Since this has become like any other opposite-sex relationship I currently take part in (though all unique and exciting) I won’t blog about it anymore, but keep an eye open for future dates. I’ve found I enjoy writing about them. Though I’ll mostly write about the ones I’m most sketched-out by, honestly.

Date Night… no wait! Afternoon.
I met a guy recently (too recently) and well I’m in trouble! NO! I don’t have a fatal attraction to him whatsoever, but I agreed to go out with him tomorrow. Why would I do that?! Why do I do this to myself?! Honestly though, I was just being polite. He’s been nothing but nice to me, but Ohmygod I swear I didn’t lead him on AT ALL. Can’t a girl smile at a guy and that be the end of it? He’s, umm, smart and…………yeah…that’s all I know about him. So I was surprised to be asked, to say the least. I was contacted by him via SMS Text and asked what time I’d get off work. I said 12:30pm and he then said, “Lunch and a Movie?” WHAT?! Where did you come from mister? I’ve only ever met him once. So yeah, he catches me off guard and I don’t want to be rude AND it takes “balls” (for lack of better word) to ask someone out. So Camila said yes. No, I don’t think I regret this decision quite yet, but maybe you’ll cringe along with me as you read on. I do not have the luxury of my own personal vehicle yet so I would need my own ride there. Oh, but wait, Prince Charming texts me, “lol k, wht time and…ur going to walk there? :o… i can pick you up from ur work lol” Besides the fact that he laughed out loud before and after offering me a ride, this deal sounded pretty nice. In my mind I was thinking, “Oh boy, he drives! He just earned some brownie points!!! OMG what car does he drive?!” If you’re a girl, you know. But a few hours later, Prince Charming texts me, “Loll we might have to walk to crossroads:p„ sorry! Ive done it many times„ is that okay?” (he actually used the commas) NO THAT’S NOT OKAY! Apparently he doesn’t have the luxury of his own vehicle either! Was his mom gonna drive us to the movies?! Its a 1.8 mile 37 minute walk in 91 degree heat; I Googled it. You can laugh, I did. And I also agreed. This might be a disaster OR actually be worth it. I honestly don’t know. [comment all you want]
